Politics and Prose and Sixth & I Present MITCH ALBOM
Join us to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the treasured classic TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, which was born when Mitch Albom, a sports columnist for The Detroit Free Press, saw a piece on Nightline about Morrie Schwartz, a 78-year-old Brandeis sociology professor recently diagnosed with ALS. Albom had studied with Schwartz sixteen years earlier and contacted him. Schwartz remembered his former student and Albom made weekly pilgrimages to see him in Massachusetts. Albom's moving, wise book chronicles his fourteen conversations with Schwartz before his teacher passed away in 1995. Supplemented with Albom's memories and Schwartz's lectures, this book of clear-eyed thoughts on love, regret, and death is truly inspirational.

Albom will be in conversation with Ted Koppel, Nightline anchor from 1980 to 2005.
