Make & Mingle Factory Tour

Make & Mingle is a unique factory tour where you're the one who's makin' it. Go off the beaten path and get behind the scenes of an accomplished Brooklyn Maker. See how it's Made in Brooklyn and learn how you can make it too. It's an opportunity to learn from a master maker and to socialize with others aspiring to make.This M&M features designer and maker Alfred Stadler.

Alfred has extensive knowledge of working with leather, felt and other luxury materials and incorporating these into products and interior designs. After receiving his design degree from GWS Bern in Switzerland, he worked with a top saddle maker to craft saddles for Olympic dressage riders. Later he joined other design firms like DeSede, Jack Lenor Larsen and Vitra Home where he mastered his techniques. He launched Alfred Stadler Lifestyle in Brooklyn and makes bags and accessories for men and women as well as products for the home.

After a tour of his workspace and showroom in the Red Hook Studios, Alfred will provide hands-on instruction on European artisanal techniques as practiced by Alfred himself and other fashion labels like Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Henry Beguelin. Learn edge dying and the one needle saddle stitch to make a personal accessory that you can take home with you.
