Christopher Martin and Larkin Poynton are internationally recognized choreographers who share a goal of meaningful and innovative work that transcends the stage. This idea became the foundation of Project Home, a dance endeavor that combines original music and narrative storytelling in a dramatic location.
In January of 2016, they began seeking other artists to join their team. They sought out directing duo Andrew Michael Ellis and Ben Stamper for their unique sensitivity to details, and composer Jon Seale for his ability to tell stories with music. In addition, they gathered five other talented dancers from their communities to be the cast of the film. See the full team biographies here.
Project Home raised $19,118 on Kickstarter, which went on to fund the team's travel costs, accommodations, camera gear, and other production costs. In September of 2016, with only ten days for production, the crew flew to Iceland to build a narrative around the dramatic landscape. Despite being at the mercy of Mother Nature, the team persevered together to produce truly breathtaking footage.
After months of post-production, Project Home is proud to present their first short film, HOME - a story of home, of family, and the resilience of the human spirit.
