TITLE AND DEED
The Midnight Company presents TITLE AND DEED by Will Eno.  TITLE AND DEED offers a solitary man, an immigrant to our shores  the newest nobody of the funniest century yet.  The Chicago Tribune described the character as a most welcome visitor, a provocateur with deep thoughts, an outsider who helps us see ourselves.     The New York Times said TITLE AND DEED was a haunting and fiercely funny meditation on life as a state of permanent exile, with mesmerizing long rhapsodic passages that leave you happily word-drunk (Chicago Tribune.)

Will Eno is also the author of THE REALISTIC JONESES (Drama Desk Award and several 2014 Best Play lists), THE OPEN HOUSE (Obie, Lortel, Drama Desk Awards, several 2014 top ten play lists), and THOMPAIN (based on nothing), a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  He recently wrote and directed the acclaimed WAKEY,  WAKEY at The Signature Theatre in New York.

Christopher Isherwood in the NY Times said, If you found THOMPAIN as moving and mesmerizing as I did, you are likely to feel much the same about TITLE AND DEED, which is a bit more whimsical and digressive if no less gorgeously and inventively wrought, line by line.

The Midnight Company has produced THOMPAIN twice, in 2006 and again in 2016, with Midnight Artistic Director Joe Hanrahan in the title role (Hanrahan was nominated for a 2016 St. Louis Theatre Critics Circle Award as Best Actor/Comedy for that show.)   Hanrahan will also perform the central role in TITLE AND DEED.

Hanrahan recently appeared in Midnights LITTLE THING BIG THING, and directed CUDDLES for Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble and  Arthur Millers A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE for Clayton Theatre.  He has written and will appear in Midnights St. Louis Fringe Festival show, THE EVEREST GAME, in August, and will direct THE FLICK by Annie Baker for R-S Theatrics in December.

Sarah Whitney, Midnights Associate Director, will direct TITLE AND DEED.  And Bess Moynihan will serve as Design Consultant
