Football Fan Camping-Fishing Derby Fun for Sockeye Salmon
Join Papa Earl Thomas and Papa Michael Bennett, Father's of the Seattle Seahawk Players Earl Thomas III, and Michael Bennett Jr. leading off the competition among other guests fishing on Lake Wenatchee for Sockeye Salmon! Best fishing record since 34 years ago in 2016 where Michael Bennett caught the largest Salmon and record catch between the two boats. We caught over 24 Salmon last year!
This year, under popular demand, we will continue the tradition on August 13, Sunday morning early early early at 5 a.m. and finish by 3 p.m. out on Lake Wenatchee. You may sign up with your own team of 4 or 5 in a boat and fish with your own equipment, or join one of the family members of our football players to compete against the other fishing guide professional boats! Entry for each self entered boat teams is $75 per person, and fishing guide services includes fishing equipment, poles, and derby entry for $210 per person. You don't have to be an expert fisherman to go! They will teach you as you fish! Best fun ever! First time Papa Milloy went and had been hooked ever since. Those joining the family members of the players will be provided fishing gear, and guide service personnel will fillet your fish for you! You just need to bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks along with an Ice Chest to fill with ice to keep the fish cold on your way home! Best Salmon ever! I fixed it on the BBQ grill and moist as ever!
PLEASE NOTE: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, coat or windbreaker, check the weather, and tennis shoes or aqua sox shoes that don't slip. MUST HAVE FISHING LICENSE and Salmon Stamp on site to participate. No exceptions, so make sure you have your fishing license with you! Fred Meyer, and other places sell them. The entry does not include fishing license fee.
Meet at Lake Wenatchee by 4:45 a.m. at the Nason Creek Campground Boat Launch.
Trophy for largest catch, 1st Place,$100 and a Cabela's Gift Card, 2nd largest- $50 and a Cabela's gift card, and 3rd Place largest catch, a Cabela's gift card. The most catch also receives a gift basket and some cash! Awards Ceremony after fishing around 2:30 p.m. at Nason Creek Campground!
You may camp at Nason Creek Campground that has a beach, playground, Bathroom with showers, and some electrical connections in some camp sites. Be sure to reserve your spot and check the burn ban status before building a fire!
Children 8 and over may participate. All entries benefit the Earl Thomas Guardian Angel Foundation and Bennett Foundation!
