Lipizzan Stallion Show in Bristol
Online ticket sales have ended -- tickets CAN be purchased AT THE GATE!!
The Original Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria are coming to Colt State Park! On the weekend of August 5th and 6th, the world famous Lipizzan Stallions will perform four shows at Colt State Park. Children under 6 get in free! Bring you own chairs, this is an outdoor field event, handicap accessible, restrooms and cash concessions at site.
Founded in the 16th century for the exclusive use of the Hapsburg Royal family of Austria, the Royal Lipizzans are unquestionably the rarest, most aristocratic breed of horses in the world. The pride of the Hapsburg Empire, the Lipizzan breed was first established by Archduke Charles at Lipizza (now part of Yugoslavia).
Only a few hundred have ever existed at any one time. Indeed, it is a contemporary miracle of sorts that this precious bloodline is not extinct, having barely been saved by General George Patton from the Russian advance during World War II. The Lipizzans' celebrated escape was recounted in the Walt Disney movie, "Miracle of the White Stallions".
The shows are being hosted by the First Congregational Church (Bristol's founding church) in partnership with the Bristol 4th of July Committee.
Tickets purchased through Brown Paper Tickets are good for any one show. Choose from: Saturday, August 5 at 2 PM or 6 PM; or Sunday, August 6 at 2 PM or 6 PM. (Note: Monday, August 7 is the rain date if the Sunday 6 PM show is a rainout. If Saturday is rained out, you must choose a Sunday performance. No tickets will be refunded for any reason.)
