Embody Voice Voice Activation Workshop
Sirens Studio at Subud Hall May 13th 2-6 PM
Each of us has something important to say, but for many, the voice doesn't always flow so easily, and too often your voice can get stuck just when it matters most. In this free- spirited session, we will explore the psycho-emotive interplay of your voice, your skull and jaw with your throat, pelvis and sexual centers.
This event is for performers,musicians, healers,poets anyone with a voice,a message, a song or expression!
Megwyn White will provide brief full-body immersions and specific exercises to open trapped emotion and release tension in your voice and throat in order to empower aligned communication.
Many of us clench our jaws, hold in our stomachs, tense our shoulders, arms, and hands, tuck our tails or lock our hips, legs, and knees -- to brace against the world, or, to be honest, our inner life. What is the conscious way to unfold and unfurl? When we speak, the vibration and tone of our voice elicit emotional responses in others. Learn how to influence others positively; to resonate with your highest frequency potential.

We will explore the dimensions of the face, and uncover some of the key facets of where your voice may be getting cut off from its most powerful connection to the body.
Youll be guided into learning how you can incorporate simple self-care explorations that will jumpstart your embodied potential to become more empowered in your self-expression, and learn how this work can take you even deeper over time.
Founder of EmbodyVoice,Megwyn Whitehas spent over 20 years researching and exploring the dynamics of human emotions as they are mapped inside the bodys tissue. She graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she focused on physical theater and dance. She studied Yoga, Pilates, Taoist techniques, Tantra, and a more extensive study in the structure and architecture of the human body with teachers like Yamuna Zake, creator of Yamuna Body Logic, and Yamuna Body Rolling, and Rael Isacowitz, Founder of Body Arts and Science International. Through years working one on one with clients, she discovered "patterns of contraction" in relation to the energy of voice within the body. Hertechniqueincludes powerful self-care tools, and rituals that awaken the constellation of emotions that are often locked inside the body's tissue as fear, shame, and trauma.
