Camp Alternative

Hello to all and welcome to the first annual Camp Alternative!

Camp Alternative is a freeform event that is open to alternative relationships and families from all walks of life. Bring your family, chosen family, and friends to help shape the present and future of this new event by painting a cultural canvas that embodies the people within it.

A 32-acre campus near Index, Washington beckons to be filled with all manners of activity for you and yours. The goal is to have this space grow organically with us. As time goes on, this mostly-undeveloped space will vibrate with our intensity, happiness, and passion, and our financial contributions to the space will be used to add infrastructure for future events.

We welcome contributions in the form of workshops, activities, music, or whatever you can provide to help ensure a fun and accepting time for all. One meadow will be restricted to adults-only for camping and activities, with the rest of the site open to all.

Please note that self-reliance and leave no trace are important components of this event. Portable toilets will be provided, but there is no water, electricity, or disposal of garbage on-site. Meals are not provided, but coordination of group meals is encouraged. Lastly, we need to be clean and respectful to our hosts, so that we are welcomed back to grow our new awesome extended family every year.
