Music! Dancing! Art! Alcohol! Fun! Fun in the name of art!
The Tower of Not Babel is an interactive art structure that has traveled around to seven events in five states in the North East. It has one more stop, in Ohio, and then goes out to Burning Man! At each stop, event goers were given the opportunity to express themselves on one side of the Tower. Some wrote from the heart. Some drew pictures. One carved with a chainsaw! Inspiration. Love. Hate. Whatever they felt they needed to express at that time.
The goal was to get grant funding from Burning Man Arts to take the completed time-capsule project to Burning Man. Funding was denied, but the Tower still needs to complete its mission. Over 5,000 people have had the opportunity to write or draw on it, climb on it, read the thoughts from others, and to even just socialize on it. These people are expecting the Tower to finish its mission.
With help from this fundraising event I'll be able to rent a truck and trailer and get the Tower to the Black Rock Desert in Nevada in late August!
The Tower will be at the warehouse! You'll be able to spend some time and check out the musings of its travels!
Come out, drink, dance, have fun, and help an artist and the contributors fulfill this adventure!
