Treasure Valley Wine Society May Tasting
Don't mess with Texas! Unless, that is, you want to plant a vineyard and start a winery, then you'll be part of a hot new trend. The wine industry of Texas has blossomed over the past 20 years and today produces many award winning wines.
Reserve your seats today for this special tasting of made-in-Texas wines presented by Garry Scholz. He and his wife Donna brought back some outstanding examples of Texas wines from their recent trip in January and will share them with us. We'll be treated to two whites, a rose', and three reds. All wines were made from grapes sourced either in the Hill Country or Panhandle wine regions.
Chef Rivera and his staff will prepare a Texas theme appetizer table and buffet line to pair with the wines. For this special tasting we are going to enjoy loaded potato skins on the appetizer table, along with smoked beef brisket, Sangiovese bbq sauce, and cowboy baked beans on the buffet line. Dessert will be a flan with whipped cream. Yum!
Reserved tickets are available for $25 to members & first time guests. Returning guests must pay membership dues to continue enjoying the reserved price. Reservations must be made by end of day May 3.
Added bonus: One of the white wines will be a grape variety you have never enjoyed before, while one of the reds is a robust variety that used to be popular in France but now is found mostly in the New World. Intriguing!
