#bitchdrinks
The Minefield Theatre Group makes its Brooklyn debut with this social commentary on the misconceptions of women in todays society, using poetry and spoken word to dissect, and debunk some of their myths and myriads, as well as address obstacles they inexplicably face. #bitchdrinks derives from two notions: that women cant hold their liquor as well as men, therefore being subject to watered-down drinks at bars, and an indication of the social media culture we currently inhabit with the unbridled power of a hashtag.
Featuring: Sabrina Cates, Elizabeth Claflin, Mone't Rosa Fuentes, Marie Diamond Iachetta, and Jessica Danielle Powell.
Directed by Phil Williams and Ian Tyrone Stephens, with production and stage management by Chasity Pierna.
Presented by Friends and Lovers, a project of passion, friendship, and love. This is a 21+ venue.
