Bibliophilia Story Telling Festival - Whole Festival Ticket
This extravaganza of words for word lovers is about the living book. Each reading at Bibliophilia is unique featuring performances that highlight the transformative power of stories from page to stage. There is wit, there is adventure, there is culture, and so much more!

Bibliophilia is presented by Word Lit Zine, a quarterly literary publication, and is in co-production with Theater Schmeater.

Note that this ticket is for the whole festival, every performance and each day.

6/22 7:30   Karen Finneyfrock reading the first chapter of in progress  novel The Year We Ruined the House. Karen Finneyfrock is the author of two young adult novels: The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door and Starbird Murphy and the World Outside, both published by Viking Childrens Books. She is one of the editors of the anthology Courage: Daring Poems for Gutsy Girls and the author of Ceremony for the Choking Ghost, both released on Write Bloody press.  She is a former Writer-in-Residence at Richard Hugo House in Seattle and teaches for Seattle Arts and Lectures Writers-in-the-Schools program.

6/22 9:00 PM Realitys Edge Radio Drama
Science fiction enthusiast group, Sci-fi Commons teams up with Bibliophilia this year to bring you their trademark show, Realitys Edge. Be taken through a dramatic sci-fi tale told by a modern day radio theater group and improv artists. In the first half, you will see and hear the group perform the story as written, bringing to life the characters and world, through their voices and audio engineering talent. The latter half of the show will conclude with improv influenced by the story.

Part open mic, part reading, this traditional lit events will have performances from author and Capitol Cider reading series creator Josh Potter; Poet Sharon Nyree Williams; and author, poet, and Word Lit Zine creator, Jekeva Phillips. Bring your own work for 3minute reads!

6/24 7:30  Heathcliff Letters: everything you need to know about great literature without cracking a book.Its time to cram! You remember your school days book reports and pop quizzes, dont you wish you had a better way to study all the classics? Well at this show, you will learn everything you ever need to know about great literature without cracking a book. Shout out the title of a novel youve always wanted to read, and sit back and enjoy as a group of improvisational actors give you the Heathcliff Notes version.


6/24 9:00 PM Poetry Verse Play
Art doesnt imitate life at this show, art imitates art. The incomparable Anastacia-Renee will read from one of her deliciously rich and intense poems and afterward a group of professional improvisational actors will perform a one-act play inspired by the piece.
Anastacia Renee, is Writer-in-Residence at Hugo House, a home for writers in Seattle. She is a queer writer, performance artist and creative writing workshop facilitator. She has received poetry fellowships from Cave Canem, Hedgebrook, VONA, Artist Trust and Jack Straw, as well as a writing residency from Ragdale.  Her theatrical mixed-media project, 9 Ounces: A One Woman Show is a multivalent social justice play unapologetically downward dogging its way through class, race, culture, oppression, depression, survival and epiphany. She is the Author of 26, (Dancing Girl Press) and her cross-genre work has been published widely. Three books, Forget It (Black Radish Books) , Answer(Me), (Winged City Chapbooks, Argus Press)  and (V.), (Gramma Press) are forthcoming in 2017.
