Rotaract 5k, Kid Fun Run, and CrossFit Run
May 13, 2pm, Rotary Park
Rotaract Ellensburg will host a fundraiser 5k, kids fun run and CrossFit run on May 13 at 2pm in Ellensburg. Net proceeds will be donated to HopeSource's youth scholarship. The scholarship assists Kittitas County youth with signup fees/equipment fees/etc. related to sports, arts and other activities. (See http://hopesource.us/support_services.html). HopeSource currently assists around 100 youths per year with this scholarship.
After the main events, we will offer music and other fun in the park for all ages.
5K INFO: we will run a Rotary Park and lake route. Runners will be timed (unofficially). An 18+ age group will begin first and a teen division will start afterwards. $30 with t-shirt and a beer from Whipsaw (21+) if signed up in advance.
CROSSFIT INFO: Ellensburg CrossFit will host with an individual all 18+ age 1 mile park run including various functional movement stations (barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, bodyweight movements, etc.). All experienced CrossFitters, Ellensburg or elsewhere, are welcome. $30 with shirt and beer from Whipsaw (21+) if signed up in advance.
FUN RUN INFO: kids of all ages will run/walk a loop around the park. The fun run will occur after the 5k and CrossFit event (so parents can run if desired). At various points in the loop, game/activity stations will be placed throughout. A cup of Winegars ice cream will be awarded to each finisher at the end. $10 per kid with prize - no shirt. Our activity stations will be hosted by Nerdcore Toys, HopeSource, Ellensburg CrossFit, Kittitas Valley Fire Department, Winegars Ice Cream, and more.
