THIS EVENT BUILDS COMMUNITY: How hyper-local collaboration can support the arts and free expression
On Friday, May 12, 2017 City Lit Books (2523 N. Kedzie Blvd. in Logan Square, Chicago) will host THIS EVENT BUILDS COMMUNITY: How hyper-local collaboration can support the arts free expression. The 6:30 p.m. event will feature a discussion led by Curator and Educator Jessica Cochran, with Brandon Graham, artist and author of Good For Nothing and Missing People (Simon and Schuster). Joseph Lappie, Associate Professor of Art at St. Ambrose University in Iowa and illustrator for the cover of Good for Nothing - has created a limited edition letterpress poster based on Missing People that will be available to ticketed attendees.

City Lit will have both of Brandon's books available to purchase and the author will be signing purchased books after the discussion. Proceeds from the ticket and poster sales will benefit TRANSIT Residency, NFP, a Chicago-based 501(c)3 arts organization. As space is limited, 60 tickets are available for $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Admission includes one limited edition letterpress poster.
