Building a Lasting Wardrobe: Tailoring, Alterations, and Repair with Kathryn Sterner & Emily Bryngelson
Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop - "Building a Lasting Wardrobe: Tailoring, Alterations, and Repair" with Kathryn Sterner & Emily Bryngelson on Saturday, July 8th from 10 am-4 pm! This workshop is designed for those seeking to learn essential tailoring and repairs for clothing in order to make their wardrobe more sustainable.

Kathryn and Emily are each founders of their own, individual clothing lines, each with a focus on sustainability and production ethics. Kathryn, for Winsome Goods (www.winsomegoods.com), which is a womens clothing brand based out of Minneapolis, in which every garment is designed, sampled and produced under one studio roof. Emily, for Abraham Label (www.abrahamlabel.com), a gender fluid and trend neutral brand based and produced out of Brooklyn, NY.

In a world of disposable fashion, one of the most sustainable decisions we can make is to save and wear the clothing we already own. This workshop (class size will not exceed 15) will focus on the primary elements of tailoring and repair for clothing in order to extend the life of the favorite things we already have in our wardrobes. Workshop participants should bring a few items of clothing to alter or repair. Depending on complexity, participants may be able to finish these in class. This workshop will also provide a brief overview of the clothing production industry, insider tips and tricks to shopping thrift, and simple tools for minimizing and maintaining a useful wardrobe.

The price for the Workshop is $95 a person (which includes lunch and beverages as well as the use of all tools needed for the day).

Participants should bring:
* Few items of clothing to alter or repair
* Comfortable clothes based on the weather
