NataDas (Servant of Dance) Live Music Ecstatic Dance -
This is our one event for April 2017.
Please join us for the full moon of April for the next community ecstatic dance. For this dance gathering the music is co-created by the dancers and a set of live musicians. The musicians are observing the gross movements of the dancers on the floor and simultaneously creating a live improvisational dance track. When these tracks are played together they loosely resemble the 5 Rhythms format, a dance form created by Ms. Gabriel Roth.
This is not a performance as much as it is a community gathering. The musician and dancer can get pretty far into ecstasy by creating in their own respective domain. When these two practices come together each person can go farther in the group then they can solo. That is precisely what NataDas (Servant of Dance) holds space for. Our intention is to co-create a live music dance space that is very strong and very safe. We do this so that everybody can come together and get down in a good and real way. We do this to create and heal our community on the ground here in Asheville and around the world.

Doors open at 7:15pm for warm up
Music starts @ 7:30pm
Music ends @ 10:30

How long is the music going to play?
The play time will be at least 60min and up to 75min depending on the night. There will be an opening circle and closing words, both brief and important.
We communicate non-verbally and receive consent before we join any other persons dance on the dance floor. Please do not engage or touch any person unless you have made clear eye contact and are invited to engage in a dance. Every dancer on the floor may disengage from any dance at any time with no explanation or reason given.
This dance is not open to include small young people (children). 18Yrs old and older please.
Bring personal water containers. There will be water on site offered.
We dance bare foot. If you need shoes to dance please bring them clean to this floor.
Can I sing?
There is room for singing and all manor of vocalizations with the exception of conversations. You are asked to not use any words on the dance floor. If you need to communicate please get the attention of the person and have them follow you off the floor to have your words.
