V.V. Variety Show #9 - Radical Joy!
For the last 6 years, Vanessa VerLee has been hosting a bi-annual variety show in San Francisco that stretches people's creative comfort zones. Knowing that magic happens right beyond familiar territory, the V.V. stage has spent years inviting seasoned performers to do something outside of of the wheelhouse. Singer-songwriters doing stand-up... Drummers exploring a dance... Comedians dusting off their guitar. The results are often surprising and always entertaining.
For this spring's show, in a cultural climate where most all of our nervous systems have been stretched beyond our comfort zone, we are switching up the theme. Invited performers to this V.V. stage are required only to offer something that brings them immense joy to perform. In these times, defiant joy and creative expression are radical acts of revolution. Let's RESIST the temptation to quietly despair and PERSIST in repairing by sharing and celebrating our voices.
Our previous location of Viracocha is sadly no longer, but we thrilled to relocate to the beautiful Red Victorian, in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, with a long history of supporting peace, creativity and revolution.
This spring's show of storytelling, comedy, sing alongs, beautiful music and more will feature: Ziva, Tom Latanand, Misha & Elise, The Platonic Ideals (Lila & Rachel), Dillon Castleton, Molly Kittle, Leslie Einhorn, Jeff Steeno, Jeremy Rourke and Vanessa VerLee
