Hymen In Hysterics with Sarah Beth Mundy
Culled from dusty stacks of journals, from midnight musings of an all-but-forgotten blog, and from the fever dreams and memories of a mind that never stops running, Sarah Beth Mundy invites you to surrender a night and hear the stories of living day-to-day with Borderline Personality Disorder. This storytelling event asks you to release all stigmas and experience the incredible highs and lows that life has to offer, as only Sarah Beth can speak it. Expect to be surprised, and expect to blur the lines between what makes us laugh and makes us cry. You might even find a shade of yourself in her tales. Come with an open mind, and leave emboldened to tell your tale, too.

Since 2010, Sarah Beth Mundy has been performing staged readings and written pieces across venues in Kansas City, including recordBar, The Brick, Fishtank Performance Studio, and The Outburst Performance Gallery. Her writing is a blend of the intimate and the confessional, in long form narratives and short. Sarah Beth is most known for the two years she devoted to Kansas Citys Dear Diary series, where she performed for audiences her most cringe-inducing teenage diaries with grace and aplomb.  You most recently saw her on stage for David Wayne Reeds ongoing show Shelf Life, and as a featured storyteller for The Outbursts Dirty Birdie Story Hour series.
Sarah Beth has also written narratives and given spoken performance on multimedia collaborations. These projects include the 2015 Art Sounds series performance As I See You, produced by Cody Kauhl and Stacy Busch, and a live poetry performance alongside Teri Ann Quinn for The Black House Collective in 2013. When she isnt on the lookout for the next project, Sarah Beth spends her daylight hours part-time teaching at UMKC, where she received her M.A. in English Literature in 2014.
