CIM Student Government Association Presents: A Benefit Concert in support of Lake Affect Arts
The mission of Lake Affect Arts is to spread music of all genres and cultural backgrounds in the community on two primary fronts. The first is a rigorous education program that will work with schools to provide both regular outreach performances as well as supportive curriculum plans. All taught by professionally acclaimed guest artists as well as passionate student performers from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Second is the production of a concert series at the newly restored LaSalle Theater in Colinwood that will feature offerings from leading artists, such as members of the Cleveland Orchestra, in addition to a great many bright young performers who need the real world stage experience to break through as polished artists. We believe that through all of these initiatives Lake Affect Arts can bring the thoroughly documented scientific benefits of music education to Cleveland schools of all levels, provide CIM and local students real world performance and teaching opportunities crucially needed for professional development, and bring a unique style of concert presentation to our LaSalle Theater Series.  We are thrilled to announce that the Student Government Association at the Cleveland Institute of Music has offered their support to us by producing a benefit gala in Kulas Hall at CIM on March 24th at 8:30pm. All proceeds will go towards funding the total output of Lake Affect Arts projects during the year of 2017.

The program will include some of CIMs brilliantly talented student artists and concert artist and head of the CIM Violin Faculty Joan Kwuon. In addition the company dancers of The Cleveland Ballet are offering us their support by contributing to the program with a performance of the Borodin Polivetsian Dances! Tickets are on sale now! $20 for adults, $10 for students. CIM students and children under 18 are admitted free. We hope to see you on March 24th!
