Conquering Mountains, Raising Hope
Please join us for this special Maine screening of the documentary film Hope on the Horizon the tale of four adventurers who set out to climb the 48 highest peaks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (also known as the 4000 footers) to raise awareness and funding for ALS patients and their families.
The HOTH team of four hikers, including the film maker, set out to summit all 48 peaks in a single trip. Two completed the journey, covering an incredible 250 miles and over 70,000 feet of elevation in only 24 days.
The event will be emceed by Jeff Ryan, author of Appalachian Odyssey: A 28-year hike on America's trail.
About ALS ALS, also known as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is one of the most common neuromuscular afflictions. More than 30,000 Americans have been diagnosed with this disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
Tickets Tickets are free, yet donations can be made to help Maines Hope-JG foundation purchase ramps to help Mainers afflicted with ALS retain access to their homes and stay with their families.
