Join us for a screening of Disney's "Born in China," a nature documentary that follows three animal families - panda bears, snow leopards and golden monkeys - as they navigate the Chinese wilderness.
Funds raised from this event will benefit two Madison nonprofits: Community Immigration Law Center (CILC) and Aldo Leopold Nature Center (ALNC).
CILC is a coalition of legal, social and faith-based organizations working to address the unmet legal needs of immigrants in Madison and the surrounding areas. Volunteers provide services like education on immigration rights, referrals to immigration experts, and training for lawyers, interpreters and intake assistants. CILC has seen exponentially increased demand for their services since January. For more info on CILC, visit http://www.cilcmadison.org.
ALNC provides innovative, hands-on programs for children, families and teachers to connect with nature and appreciate the interconnectedness of all living things. Two year-round nature center campuses in Monona and Black Earth offer experiential environmental education programming, fostering admiration and respect for nature, and encouraging sustainability and stewardship of the land. For more info on ALNC, visit http://aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org.
Celebrate environmental and cultural diversity by attending this screening! Fifty percent of ticket sales will benefit these local organizations working for community, diversity and justice.
