Radio Daze III
Sit back and laugh for an hour with the Watertown Players as they recreate the experience of old time radio. They will present a series of original comedy sketches which represents a typical broadcasting day in the life of a small and woefully underfunded radio station, WPRT. Featured in todays broadcast will be: a soap opera, Life on the Cowl Farm, which is the continuing saga of the life of Elner Cowl, a free-lance mortician and her fruitless pursuit of love and happiness; the story of The Merle, East Paterson, NJs last remaining drive-in movie theater, located way out on rt. 27 (not the new one but the old one), down the winding road, past the haunted farmhouse, just a sharp turn at the dead end sign and there youll find it, the Merle. Join us as we look in on the mis-adventures of the drive-ins owners, Pop Huchins and his strangely alluring daughter, Leona; the crime drama, Ed Fenske, $2.00 Extortionist. On todays episode Ed gets his taxes done; and finally Great Moments in Lutheran History: The story of the almost first Lutheran Saint. Interspersed throughout are commercials for the E.J. Tawedrey Companys many innovative and potentially lethal products. And remember their slogan: If you really care for someone, get them a Tawdrey Gift!
