Make the Road NY Fundraiser at Hinterlands
The MRNY Aliadxs and Coney Island Avenue Solidarity invite you to come out to Kensington's own Hinterlands Bar for a Wednesday evening happy hour and raffle to support the important work of Make the Road New York!
$25 gets you five raffle tickets and your first drink (beer/wine/well). Additional beer and well drinks will be available for $5 each during the event (as well as Hinterlands' regularly priced full bar and awesome cocktails and their regular food menu)
At least $20 of each ticket sale goes directly to Make the Road NY
We'll be holding a "democratic" raffle, meaning you get five raffle tickets but you'll be able to decide which prizes you want to enter for. Additional raffle tickets will be for sale during the event.
About Make the Road NY: MRNY builds the power of immigrant and working communities to achieve respect and dignity. They provide services that annually help 15,000 people get on their feet and organize for far-reaching reforms that impact millions.
To accomplish its objectives, MRNY employs four core strategies: Community and Worker Organizing: Make the Road members identify common problems, devise solutions, and wage grassroots campaigns to enact those solutions.
Policy Innovation: Make the Road lawyers work with members to design creative and enforceable solutions to widespread problems.
Legal & Survival Services: Make the Road serves the complex needs of whole families, handling over 9,000 legal and health cases a year.
Transformative Education: Make the Road teaches 4,000 adults in English and civics so they can advance in their careers and education, engage in civic life, and grow as activists and leaders in their communities.
About the MRNY Aliadxs: Aliadxs is a decentralized network of allies committed to using our skills, privileges, and resources to support Make the Roads members in the fight for policies and an immigration system and an economy that recognize every single persons full humanity. We refuse to let racist ideology tear apart our city and pit working people against each other.
About Coney Island Avenue Solidarity: CIAS is a community group based in the Kensington/Midwood/Ditmas Park area of Brooklyn, committed to responding on the local level to address national, state, and city policies that impact our community.
