French Pastry Workshop: Puff Pastry
Making beautiful, buttery, flakey puff pastry can seem intimidating to many home bakers. The fancy French name (pâte feuilletée) and the time-consuming lamination process can seem daunting, but it's completely worth it! Puff pastry has hundreds of uses and is always sure to impress and satisfy your friends and guests.
In our 3-hour, hands-on class, we'll teach you how to make puff pastry at home from start to finish. Then we'll teach you how to make pastry cream and a traditional almond cream filling so that we can assemble a Galette des Rois (the traditional French cake for Epiphany).
We'll provide some sweet snacks for you to nibble on while you cook. All you need to bring is yourself and your own beverage beer, wine, kombucha, whatever you desire (or buy a drink when you get here). Encourage your friends to take the class with you for an extra good time! At the end of the night, you'll get to take home all the recipes, your own dough, and the fillings you made so that you can make some more pastry masterpieces at home.
