Reaching Blue, movie screening & producer reception
The Green Sanctuary Committee of Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship presents a screening of Ian Hinkles acclaimed film, REACHING BLUE, Friday, March 17th at 6:30 PM at the Fellowship, 2333 San Juan Avenue, Port Townsend. The film is all about the impacts of Climate Change on the Salish Sea.

There will be a Q&A discussion with filmmaker and former Port Townsend resident Ian Hinkle. A reception at 8:00 PM will offer local oysters, smoked salmon, cheese, cider and other treats provided by some of our 15 co-sponsors.

THE FILM: www.reachingblue.com
A poet, an oyster farmer, and an ocean scientist on the Pacific coast face the impacts of climate change, while finding hope for the future beneath the Salish Sea.

A short film that will make you think long and hard about sea change
Greame McRanor, Metro News

With lessons from John Steinbecks research vessel Western Flyer in Port Townsend to remote islands of the B.C. coast, REACHING BLUE crosses the Salish Sea to ask the question: do we have the knowledge and technology to understand ocean change, and perhaps most importantly, do we have the will to act?

REACHING BLUE was produced and directed by Ian Hinkle and Andy Robertson, with support from Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and Ocean Networks Canada at the University of Victoria, and has been shown at dozens of festivals around the world.

Tickets for $10.00 and are available at the Port Townsend Food Co-op, and after each Sunday service at the Fellowship, March 5th & 12th. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Free childcare will be available.
