What It Takes To Feed A Pterodactyl
Life happens when you least expect it. This heartwarming, poignant and humorous one-person show tells the story of what happens when roles are reversed between parent and child. Confronted with his mothers illness, Darrell must make a choice, and this one choice will change a life and last a lifetime.

Darrell Shipley (AEA, SAG-AFTRA) is a New York-based actor, comedian and writer. He has been featured in such television shows as the CBS crime series, Numb3rs, and a recurring role in the famed HBO series, Boardwalk Empire. He has appeared on hundreds of comedy club stages, from New York to Los Angeles. Darrell served as the warm-up comedian for the Discovery Channel Show, Go Ahead, Make My Dinner. Mr. Shipleys playwriting credits include a trilogy of one-act plays: The Purchase, The Viewing and The Meeting. His screenplays include Crude Survival, Dog School (which has been optioned by the Showtime Network) and the recently completed short film, Cruises Big Day. One of his proudest accomplishments, however, was his role as creator and cast member of Living Room Live, a NYC-based comedy troupe that wrote and produced new weekly shows for a five year run. The group performed approximately 2,000 sketches and more than 230 live shows in New York City and in touring engagements across Americas Northeast. Living Room Live was hailed as a showcase for the freshest comedic talent in New York City and gained interest from such media giants as HBO, Disney, ABC, CBS, NBC and Showtime. Mr. Shipley is especially proud of this play, What It Takes To Feed A Pterodactyl, written about one of the people he loved most in his life. He is married to another great love, dancer Rachel Russell.
Padraic Lillis (Director) has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Off-Broadway, and Tony Award winning Regional Theaters. He is the Founding Artistic Director of The Farm Theater whose mission is to cultivate early career theater artists. He directed Lucky Chick for the NY International Fringe Festival and its' production as part of the Fringe Encore Series. Padraic was awarded the NY IT Award for Outstanding director for his production of Lindsay Joys Rise and Fall of a Teenage Cyber Queen, Overall Excellence Award from NY International Fringe Festival for his production of Lee Kaplans Bully, Best Director for his production of Valerie David's The Pink Hulk at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, and he was inducted into the Indie Theater Hall of Fame. Other solo shows he has directed are Douglas Taurel's The American Soldier that performed at The Kennedy Center, Adina Taubmans award winning show A Line In The Sand (a documentary show about Columbine), Kelly Kinsellas When Thoughts Attack, he also co-wrote with Kelly Kinsella How To Do A One Person Show, and he wrote and performs his own solo shows: Hope You Get To Eleven or What are we going to do about Sally (awarded best solo show Planet Connections Theatre Festivity) and How To Survive Crack Addiction. He is also a published playwright with Dramatist Play Services and Indie Theater Now. His film, Hand Over Hand, that he wrote and directed was awarded Best Short at the Milan International Film Festival. Padraic was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship. He is a member of Labyrinth Theater Company, the Founder and Artistic Director of The Farm Theater, and a life long Yankee fan.
