Young Explorers Summer Camp 2017 -- Garden Explorers, grades 3rd-5th
Tasting fresh dill, watching a butterfly drink nectar, pressing clay into the bark on different trees - an outdoor garden offers explorations for all your senses! Spend this week learning about plants as well as the animals that help or hinder them in the Museums own Kiwanis Learning Garden. Learn how a windmill pumps water by the wind and how to divert the water to different areas! Experiment with making pigment from plants! Spend a day as a botanist, discovering flower and leaf shapes! Find fossil plants and the creatures that ate them in the Museums exhibits. Get ready for a fun week exploring the mysteries of the garden!
