This taut courtroom drama recounts the true story of Simone Veil, Frances tenacious health minister under Valéry Giscard d'Estaing who led a groundbreaking campaign to legalize abortion in the fall of 1974. In the face of fierce resistance from the opposition party, the Catholic Church, and scathing personal and anti-Semetic attacks, Veil continued to intensify her efforts to upend societys dangerous misconceptions about abortion and a womans right to choose.
