BIOGRAPHY:

Born in 1979, Elio Di TANNA began the study of music at an early age. After graduating from his home-town conservatory in La Courneuve, he was accepted to attend the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) where he studied with Michel Béroff and Denis Pascal. At that time, he also had the opportunity to perform for several great pianists such as Dimitri Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda, Peter Frankl or Jacques Rouvier. In 2003, he was awarded with a First Prize for Piano and Chamber Music and also obtained his higher education degree. Other awards include first prize in the Brest international competition (France), Third prize in Arcachon (France) and special prize in Maria Canals international competition (Barcelona, Spain).

Elio Di Tanna has been invited to play in many theaters or music halls in Paris: Salle Gaveau, Auditorium du Louvre, Théâtre du Rond-Point, Radio-France. His broad success also allowed him to perform all around France and Europe (Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands) for recitals, chamber music or as soloist with orchestra. His repertoire embraces all the classical language, with a preference for the romantic period (especially Chopin and Liszt) as well as the twentieth century, particularly composers of the 1920s. Since 2006, he is a piano teacher at La Courneuve Conservatory. Elio Di Tanna has always been interested in music in all its forms, and different ways to express himself with a keyboard. Therefore he is a well-known and sought pianist for theatrical plays and musicals. He played and shared the stage with great french actors for shows that always combined text and music smartly :  Sacha le magnifique ,  Mozart , father and son  or recently  Novecento, pianist  with actor André Dussollier, play that was awarded by a  Molière  (the french equivalent of  Tony Award) in 2015. As a pianist/keyboardist he played for many artists on stage, in studio, for pop music and jazz. At last, he has been seen on television in all major broadcasts in France.

The next year will be full of exiting musical events for him: the release of his last record with cellist Timothée Marcel, including sonatas by Schubert and Debussy, recitals in France, summer festival in Italy (performing soloist with orchestra) and the third tour of the show  novecento  that will end with twelve shows in Montreal, Canada in February 2017.
