Gay's Paree
Actress and singer, Gay Marshall, brings a reprise of "Gay's Paree" to Pangea this Spring. From singing in the street, to dive and classy cabarets, boats on the Seine , chic nightclubs, private concerts and splendid theaters, Gay has performed all over Paris with varying degrees of thrill and misery. The show she has created for Pangea this Spring includes some amusing Parisian tales, and songs by Charles Aznavour, Boris Vian, Francis Lemarque, Dave Frishberg Jacques Brel, and Edith Piaf in both French and Gay's own English adaptations.
If you've been to the City of Light, you'll feel transported back there, and if you haven't, come take an unusual walk through her streets with this unlikely American in Paris with Musical Director Ian Herman on piano.
Shows are at 7:30 PM on 3/15, 3/22, 3/29 and 4/5.

Gay Marshall made her Broadway debut as Diana Morales in "A Chorus Line".
Her one woman show Piaf : La Vie l'Amour played in the States and took her to Paris where she played Grizabella in the original French production of Cats. Living in Europe inspired her to write If I Were Me, a comedy that she performed in Paris and took to the Edinburgh Festival where it was voted #2 on the Fringe. Back in New York, she played Denise in The Bakers Wife at Goodspeed, the York Theater and the Paper Mill Playhouse.  Her performance in the Off Broadway revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well... earned her a nomination for the Drama Leagues Distinguished Performance Award.  At the Metropolitan Room, her Piaf concerts put her on Playbill's Top Ten Divas list and Time Out's top ten cabaret shows. After producing two CDs : 'Gay Marshall Sings Piaf' and 'Go Back Where You Stayed Last Night' - a collection of 20's and 30's blues - she played Jacqueline in the Broadway tour of "La Cage Aux Folles". This year she's performed in NYC  at Town Hall, 54 Below, The Metropolitan Room, Pangea, Joe's Pub and at Merkin Concert Hall in the "Night of  A Thousand Judys".

"A celebrated and gifted interpreter of Edith Piaf ." Stephen Holden NYTimes

"An enchanting performer who could be said to represent, well,  France . To hear her sing with heart-stirring transparency is to experience Brel's art in its purest and most persuasive form." Charles Isherwood NYTimes

"Playful.... powerful and serious .... no pretense... I'll just say it flat out : if you ever want to take a master class on how to do a cabaret show, go see Gay Marshall." Evan Seplow Stagebuddy.com

as memorable and dynamic as Paris itself. It is also riotously funny. New York Music Daily
