St. Patrick's Day Concert -- A Celtic Celebration
Celtic Legend Ensemble with Celeste Ray The Shiloh Irish Dancers Friday, March 17, 2017 at 7:30 PM First Congregational Church 2000 Humboldt Street, Santa Rosa
Celeste Ray will be performing with her group Celtic Legend in Santa Rosa on St. Patricks Day. Enchanted by the folklore and haunting melodies of Thomas Moore and Robert Burns, Celeste creates a tapestry of sound combining Classical, Celtic and original folk elements into one unique show.
Ms. Ray will be performing on the Celtic bowed psaltery, a harp-styled instrument that originally dates to the 1400ss. Vocals and the harmonium will also be center stage.
Celestes sixth CD, Four Leaf Clover landed No. 1 on the Billboard charts. She tours with her group Four Celtic Voices nationally and continues to compose and perform Irish and Celtic songs that audiences revel in such as Rose of Tralee and Loch Lomond
Los Angeles Times wrote, Her voice is a warm and pleasant instrument. One of Celestes distinctive calling cards is her skill with the bowed psalterythe sound is at once fresh and other-worldly.
The Shiloh Step Irish Dancers with the poetry and photography of David Parks Ramage and Christopher Kerr will also be featured at this exciting multimedia event.
