Whidbey Island Alternatives To Violence Training (AVP)
AVP workshops use the shared experience of participants, interactive exercises, games and role-playing to examine the ways in which we respond to situations where injustice, prejudice, frustration and anger can lead to aggressive behavior and violence. AVP started in prisons in the USA in 1975 and now operates in communities, schools, colleges and conflict situations worldwide.People completing the Whidbey Island AVP workshop have the option to take advanced workshops and go on to become an AVP trainer. The workshop starts on Friday evening and continues all day Saturday and Sunday.
