THE SOUL OF THE PUPPETS
Sandglass Theater's approach to teaching puppetry is based on the idea that the puppet comes alive when it experiences its environment. Humans experience their environment when they inhale not only air, but also everything they see, hear and sense.
In this workshop we will first explore our own breathing, and then see how we can bring breath into the puppet. This helps the puppeteer fully imagine the world that the puppet experiences. The exercises explore the puppet's senses, reactions, desires, and needs, as well as the puppet's attempts to solve the physical problems of the world. If time permits, we also explore the relationship between puppet and puppeteer.
Maximum capacity: 30 attendees
