Event
PlexFest
A concert put on by a collection of Drew Perry's closest friends in the Industrial, break-core, EBM, and electronica music industry as well as those who knew Drew best. It is a celebration of his shortened life and to raise money in his generous spirit so that his passion for music and his passion for humanity can be paid forward. Performing will be End.User, DJ Shitmat, Bong-Ra, Compactor, Freeze Etch, N.L.I.C., DJ Deftly-D, and possibly others.
The concert will be held on the Sunday prior to President's Day, so we don't have to get up early for work! Merchandise, raffles, and Drew's personal collection of CDs, Vinyl, and memorabilia will be sold to help support those causes dearest to him. Full Bar will be available.
In tribute to Drew Perry, his friends and family present a concert performed by Electronic and Industrial artists who he enjoyed, most of whom he knew personally. Everyone involved in this event is donating their skills, time, and resources with nothing in return.
Bong-Ra (NL) As one of the pioneers of the Breakcore genre, Bong-Ra has managed to mix all his musical influences into a furiously energetic style. No remorse and no concession. Where other artists stick to their musical blueprint, Bong-Ra never stops the pursuit of musical development, hoping to catch his listeners off guard every single time. http://www.bong-ra.com/
end.user (CA) Influenced by industrial, hip hop and jungle has been a major contributor to the breakcore community over the last decade. He manages Sonicterror Recordings, which has doubled as an outlet for his more experimental drum & bass productions. http://lstandafer.com/end-user/
DJ ShITmAT (UK) The Shitmat sound is a roller coaster ride of splintered jungle, rave, old school, gabber and attention deficit disorder plunderphonic mashups . No genre is sacred no sample is safe. http://www.shitmat.co.uk/
COMPACTOR (NYC) Compactor is an interconnected set of mostly obsolete machinery that is manipulated by an anonymous everyman figure known as The Worker. Fragments of Industrial, Noise, Hardcore Techno, Glitch, and others are crushed into soundtracks to the daily grind and the landscape of waste we live and work in. http://www.wastemgt.info
FREEZE ETCH (IND) Indiana-based experimental electronic and industrial producer Adam Duckworth has been releasing his brand of electronic ambient experimental downtempo since 2002. https://freezeetch.bandcamp.com/
with interim DJ sets by:
N.L.I.C. (IND) DJ Deftly-D (MA)
