GBE11 The Main Event
The Great Burlesque Exposition is one of the highlights of the burlesque calendar, and the winners of The Main Event, our annual competition, are assured a place amongst burlesque's royalty. Winners of The Howard Awards have gone on to headline at The Ohio Burlesque Festival, The Dallas Burlesque Festival, The Toronto Burlesque Festival, and to win the crown at the Burlesque Hall of Fame weekend.
The Howard Awards are bestowed by a panel of judges made up of last year's winners and one or two select guest judges. This year's judges include:
Egypt BlaqueKnyle, Best Solo Performer,
Ruby Spruce, Most Humorous,
Red Velvet, Most Classic,
Sunny SIghed & Bal'd Lightning, Best Hybrid
...and others. Awards may be bestowed in the following categories: Best Solo Performance; Best Group Performance; Most Classic; Most Humorous; Most Beautiful; Best Hybrid; Best Re-Creation. Not all categories are awarded every year.
