LITNY Indie Theater Activist Training and Planning Workshop
Sixth Street Community Center
New York, NY
Share this event:

This year is a crucial election year for New York City -- we are voting for Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, and City Councilmembers.

During the last election cycle in 2013 we hosted a Meet the Candidates event where we offered candidates the opportunity to respond to our Performing Arts Platform and we made endorsements of candidates.

We will repeat that process for 2017 and we want to make sure our Performing Arts Platform is representative of the current and long-term needs of our community.

We need to prepare together and get organized so that our voices will be heard in November!

The evening will be broken into two sections:

6:30-8:00PM - Redrafting the Performing Arts Platform through a participatory process
8:00-9:30PM - Training on New York City activism: how the government works in practice, and how you can make your voice heard

The redrafted Performing Arts Platform will become the basis of how the League will endorse city officials after the Meet the Candidates 2017 event coming in March.
