What does time, timing and pace mean when we do rope? How do we experience it and how can we play with it? In this exploratory class we will find what happens in ourselves when we do rope and start to take the passage of time into account. What happens in is us when we are subjected to time and rope? How does pace matter to a tie? What do we see and feel when we give ourselves time?
The Handshake
This is a workshop in which we explore the multiple ways expectations on interactions can inform the way we communicate, listen and negotiate with each other. This will be done through a set of hands on exercises that will highlight the various ways in which we can communicate, not just according to expectations but also according to the needs and wants of those we are interacting with.
Flying low- riding high
Gravity is the one master which we cannot escape, but still we play with it in most of our rope practices and nowhere it becomes more clear than when we attach suspension lines to our play. This is a class that aims to exploring the effects of playing closely to the ground, nearly touching or just hovering very closely to take off. We can start to get both the intensity of suspension as well as the intimacy of floorbased play but add tension towards the body as it is struggles either against or with gravity. This class will give you tools but is also based upon a concept for you to explore rather than specific ties.
Body positivity & rope
How can we work with feeling good in our bodies when there are so many expectations how it should look like or work?What does that mean when we do rope, and how can we work to create body positive spaces both for ourselves and our fellow kinksters?
Manipulation Station
Bondage starts in the body not in the rope. It starts with the bodies of everyone involved . This is for you who is interested in how to move your body, with your partners body and with the ropes. We will work through ways to explore movement and manipulation as well as being more present and focused. Plenty of time will be given to exercises that will open up the ways in which we move together and feel our bodies. The first part focus on everything but the rope, the second brings the rope into the picture. How can we figure out ergonomical kinks that might be problems or even create fun ties dependent on where our bodies can move or not? We will also explore ways to control, entice and create a headfuck for our partners. Not through a huge full body tie, but through some simple ways of using rope on the face.
Requirements for rope top: solid chest harness/gote, able to build hip & leg support for suspension, experience with suspension, prepared and willing to move & be close.
Requirements for rope partners: comfortable about being in a suspension, prepared to spend some time in potentially stressful ropes, ok with communicating while in rope, prepared and willing to move and be close.
BIO
Hedwig is passionate about communication, rope bondage, safer sex and consent culture, about redressing notions of power, physical sensations, vulnerability, dominance and submission, gender and communities working together.
She hopes to bring rope bondage to a larger audience as a way to gain more body awareness, work on interpersonal communication and offer different routes to pleasure and surrender.
