The American Brass Quintet kicks off the CC Summer Music Festival's 33rd season with an Intermezzo Concert on Sunday, April 2 at 3:00pm in Packard Hall on the Colorado College Campus.
Internationally recognized as one of the premier chamber ensembles playing today, the ABQ features Kevin Cobb and Louis Hanzlik on trumpet, Eric Reed on horn, Michael Powell on trombone and John D. Rojak on bass trombone. For this event, they will be presenting a collection of Consort Music of Elizabethan and Jacobean England; Steven Sacco's 2003 Quintet; Jay Greenberg's Quintet for Brass, Op. 25; Thomas Stoltzer's Three Fantasias in Church Modes; and Joan Tower's Copperwave, which was commissioned for the ABQ by Juilliard, on the event of their centennial in 2006.
