Coming February 25th-26th 2017 to Harrisonburg, VA! Do you have fruit or nut trees, or want some? Do you want to learn how to be a naturalist and an orchardist? Do you want to know how to caringly and carefully participate in the growth of the earth with a grafting knife and pruning saw?

Come join us for Professor T. Bud Barkslip's 11th annual Fruit School! With a healthy balance of lectures and hands-on practice, this two-day university of diversity has a mission to "impart a sense of cooperative partnership with these fruiting and nutting plants." If we understand and care for the environment around our trees they will in turn care for us. There isn't an app for this! Based on thirty years of experience, wild and nutty expert Bill Whipple (aka the Professor) will teach us about site analysis and species selection for orchards, management for plants and soil, plant propagation and pruning young and mature trees, and advanced grafting techniques for fruit and nut trees, as well as ideas for building plant-and-people communities and cooperatives that are service-oriented and income-generating.
