Here at the Science Academy of Chicago (SAC,) inspiring young learners and nurturing future leaders and innovators is what our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) focused education accomplishes every day. Our curriculum goes beyond the Common Core and introduces our students to foreign language, music education, computer programming, art and so much more. We equip our students with the tools and skills necessary to become leaders in a world of scientific discovery and technological innovation; these skills are essential to meeting the challenges of this century. Our graduates move on to attend selective high schools and universities and continue to excel.
People say that it takes a village to raise a child, and we absolutely agree. Our school would not be successful without the support of our families and communities. As tuition funded school, support from our families, local businesses and communities is essential to not only maintain our high quality education program but improve upon our offerings every year. We want to be able to provide our students not only the best teachers but also the best learning materials and state of the art technology.
As I'm sure you're aware, we will be hosting our annual silent auction and fundraiser dinner gala on Saturday, March 11, to support growth and the expansion of our STREAM focused preschool, elementary, and middle school.
Guests will gather on Saturday, March 11th to support STREAM education and to witness STREAM in action. STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) unlike STEM education includes art and reading. It aims to encourage the seamless integration of its advanced reading curriculum and 21st century learning. SAOC is excited to be at the forefront of this educational initiative, which increases content literacy for all students. Guests will be able to visualize this integration through displays presented by teachers and sponsors.
Proceeds from the silent auction and dinner will go towards developing curriculum additives and tools such as equipping all classrooms with ELMO projectors and continuing LEGO Robotics for lower grades. The funds will also support various competitive teams at the school such as the Robotics Club and the Math Team. It will be held at the Crystal Palace Banquets located at 1070 S. Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect, IL, Saturday, March 11th beginning at 6 p.m. The event is sure to be an absolutely wonderful night filled with laughter, great food, and fun had by all.
We hope that you will consider supporting our mission to provide a STREAM focused college preparatory education to our youth and to prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow. To support the school, you can purchase tickets to our upcoming fundraising gala, STREAM Innovation, where we can show you first-hand what STEAM is all about and why we have been named a leader in our field. The event will feature a silent auction, live auction, photo booth, 50/50 raffle, as well as dinner.
