2017 Free Public Planetarium Show
Bellevue College will be offering free public planetarium shows in its Willard Geer planetarium on the evening of Saturday, March 18, at 6:00 and 7:00PM. Admission is free for each show, but due to limited seating, reservations must be made in advance on Brown Paper Tickets.
Each show will consist of a professionally produced, full-dome video "Secret Lives of Stars" as well as a live segment introducing the audience to that night's brightest stars and constellations. Each show will last approximately 45 minutes. These shows are not recommended for children under the age of six.
Video description can be found: http://www.bellevuecollege.edu/sami/planetarium-show-descriptions/
The planetarium, is a special domed-ceiling room (room B-244). Because the room is dark during the show, there is no late admission or re-entry. If attending with young children, please be courteous of other guests - the room is dark and the subject and length of the shows has proven to be difficult for young children to sit quietly through.
FAQs: Reservations can be made through Brown Paper Tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/ with the search term "Bellevue Planetarium." Each link to Brown Paper Tickets is unique and becomes live a week prior to the show date at 9am. When you reserve your ticket, your name will be automatically entered onto the will-call list. The presenter will check your name off when you enter. Doors will open 15-minutes prior to the start of the show.
When you finalize your reservations, you will receive a confirmation email. There is information in that email about cancelling your reservations in case your plans change. We do not charge for these events, but we need your help to keep it that way please follow the steps in the confirmation email to release your tickets if you cannot attend. If the show is sold out and you still are hoping to attend, you may arrive before the show is scheduled to start and see if there are any last minute cancellations. *This does not guarantee admission into the planetarium.*
Parking is free in any of the lots on campus on the weekends. We recommend parking in the parking garage and walking over to the B-building. The planetarium is located on the second floor of the B-building. If you have not been here before, please allow extra time to find the planetarium. A map can be found at http://www.bellevuecollege.edu/location/maps/parking/
