PEPE DEL MORAO, guitarist from Jerez, is from one of the most important flamenco guitar dynasties in history. He is the grandson of patriarch Manuel Morao, the nephew of Moraíto and is Diego del Moraos cousin. Along with his collaborations with other young artists from his home town such as Rafael del Zambo and Manuel de la Nina, he works with many of the iconic artists of Jerez, including Antonio El Pipa, Luis el Zambo, Tomasa La Macanita, Jesus Méndez and Fernando de la Morena.
MANUEL TAÑÉ was born in Jerez de la Frontera and studied singing under the great masters Luis Moneo, Luis Parillo and Enrique "El Extremeño". He started performing at the age of 16, and has gained national and international acclaim from his performances in theaters worldwide
LUIS DE LA TOTA is a beloved teacher known for his ability to share the secrets of flamenco compás with endless energy, humor and grace. Born in one of the oldest Gypsy neighborhoods of Jerez de La Frontera, El Barrio de Santiago, Luis de la Tota began his career as a percussionist at the age of 8. He takes his artistic name from his grandmother 'La Tota', who has been an inspiration to him since his infancy. As a percussionist and palmero, Luis tours with flamenco's top artists such as Antonio Del Pipa, Fernando de La Morena, El Capullo, Moraito, Diego Carrasco and Angelita Vargas and has come to the Bay Area several times with dancer Maria "Chacha" Bermudez. As a Flamenco lyricist, his verses (letras) have been recorded widely and his work as a percussionist can be heard on many CDs.
LAKSHMI BASILE LA CHIMI made history, being the first non-Spanish artist to win an award in the central flamenco contest, Concurso de las Minas de La Unión, in 2011. She also was granted an award in another primary contest, the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba. There she surprised flamenco critics and received stunning reviews; - un desgarrador homenaje a los románticos de lo jondo... (a heartwrenching homage to the romantics of pure flamenco) Alberto García Reyes, ABC.
Within ten years, Lakshmi has solidly founded her career in Sevilla, the cradle of flamenco, and is much sought after as a teacher by flamenco students in Spain and gives workshops during her travels. Su baile es de una alegria conquistada (her dance is a conquered happiness)- Felix Grande, poeta and flamencoligist.
