Emotional Creature- Raleigh, NC
The work chronicles stories inspired by girls around the globe. Too often girls must struggle between remaining strong and true to themselves and conforming to societys expectations in an attempt to please.
Emotional Creature is a celebration of the authentic voice inside every girl and an inspiring call to action for girls everywhere to speak up, empower themselves, and follow their dreams.
For our Raleigh, NC based production casting is open for teens aged 13-18 to both female identifying with she/her pronouns and those outside the binary. While the play is defined as stories about women and girls around the world, Ensler's work has had a history of being alienating to those outside the gender binary. In our production we want to correct that.
In addition, in a practice similar to The Vagina Monologues, the production will be casted, rehearsed, and performed in one week.
Proceeds will benefit the VDAY, RAINN, KIVA, and Sonorous Road.
