Nearly Sighted
Nearly Sighted is a solo project, performed and produced by Kayla Hamilton that provides an opportunity for the audience to see through her eyes. Integrating and revealing the stories of five black female choreographers; Francine E. 0tt, Nia Love, Christal Brown, Crystal U. Davis and Jaimè Dzandu, the work seeks to give visibility to black female choreographers as well as dancers with (dis)abilities. With documentary footage of interviews with the choreographers woven between dances, Nearly Sighted provides snapshots of and generates discussion around the ideas of race, gender and visibility.
