Braiding Wisdom Winter Series: Singing with an Open Heart
Singing is such a natural form of expression. Kids warble, chant, hum and holler without hesitation; cats yowl, coyotes howl; even fish sing! But most grown-up humans are too self-conscious to use their voices fully. That's a shame, because singing is good for you and yours. It truly has the power to heal. Let's explore some simple practices and tools to get over ourselves and weave singing back into daily life - for ourselves, for others, and in community.
Jody Clowes is an eclectic reader, occasional writer, mad gardener, full-throated singer, and stubbornly improvisational cook, Jody is happiest with her hands in the dirt. She sings in the shower, the car, and the yard, and (with the Threshold Singers of Madison) for people nearing the end of their lives. Jody is also a curator and director of the James Waltrous Gallery in Overture Center for the Arts.
This class is one of 13 classes that are the Braiding Wisdom Winter Series taking place from January 11th through April 12th in the beautiful and magical wood yurt in Monona.
