Day Glo Bingo Presented by the Russian River Sisters
The Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are proud to present a night of fun, fundraising and frivolity as only the Sisters know how This is not like any other Bingo game you've ever played. Picture your Grandmother's church hall bingo crossed with the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the Sisters in their best drag-nun attire.
You will be participating with all your fellow players to raise money for Social Advocates For Youth & TLC Transitional Housing.
TLC Child and Family Services is the only transitional housing placement program for foster youth in Sonoma County. We help current and former foster youth (ages 16 to 24) to transition to adulthood and learn how to be successful, self-sustaining adults while living on their own.
TLC Child and Family Services applied to be an RRSPI Bingo Beneficiary in order to set up a safety net for these youth. We will use money raised at Sisters Bingo to start an emergency housing fund. Every year youth come to us who have aged out of foster care and are teetering on the edge of homelessness due to an unexpected financial emergency. An emergency housing fund will allow us to give small stipends or micro-loans of $100-600 to prevent short-term financial crises from causing long-term homelessness.
SAY's Dr. James E Coffee House and Dream Center Short-Term Shelter are the only 24/7 emergency teen shelters between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon providing crisis services to our most vulnerable youth - those who have chosen the streets instead of "home."
Funding received as a bingo beneficiary will be specifically used to supplement other funding that supports our shelters. Even though our shelters are supported by public and foundation grants, these funds are restricted to programming. Funding from the Russian River Sisters augments public and private funding in a critical way by allowing for the purchase of food and other supplies not covered by government and foundation grants. Its not just a simple plate of food or a clean pair of socks that we are serving these youth in crisis. Its the promise of a safe place and a path to success. Each day, kids ring the doorbell at Coffee House and the Dream Center shelters, knowing they can sit down in a safe, warm place for a hot meal. Each day, kids who wake up in the safety of a bedroom know that while they are there, they don't have to worry about where their next meal will come from. As for most of us, food represents security.
The Russian River Sisters are a 21st Century Order of Nuns. Our mission is to spread joy and goodwill through community events, charitable acts and fundraising, with focus on the special needs of the Russian River area. We are also busily at work in safer sex education efforts, political and socioeconomic awareness and community building efforts.
Come to Bingo dressed in a costume related to our theme and participate in the costume contest for fabulous prizes.
Every Bingo will feature a menu of tasty dinner and dessert items, such as: Pizza, Nachos, Chili, Bags of Chips, Cake, Brownies, and a wide selection of soda and bottled water. The BINGO KITCHEN opens at 5:30pm, and closes during the 6th game.
Please take note:
Players must be 18 years of age or older. No exceptions.
No alcohol is allowed in line or in the Bingo Hall. No exceptions.
If you violate either of these rules, you will be asked to leave and not issued a refund.
Online tickets are $20, and are good for: Entry for one person, and two bingo card packs. (Each card pack includes one card for each of the seven games.)
Extra bingo cards ($5 per pack) will be available for purchase at the door.
Pre-sold ticket holders will be admitted starting at 5:30pm, and must arrive no later than 6:30pm.
ALL TICKET HOLDERS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN TICKET, EACH TICKET HAS A UNIQUE TICKET NUBER AND IS GOOD FOR ONE ADMISSION ONLY. DUPLICATE TICKET NUMBERS WILL NOT BE HONORED. IF YOU PURCHASE A VIP GROUP OF TICKETS, YOU MUST PRINT ALL 10 TICKETS AND DISTRIBUTE THEM TO YOUR GROUP MEMBERS. THOSE WITHOUT A TICKET WILL HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE AND PURCHASE A TICKET SHOULD ONE BE AVAILABLE.
After 6:30pm, advanced purchase ticket holders will continue to be admitted preferentially as long as there is room in the Hall. However, unclaimed seats may be re-sold to people in the regular waiting line.
Failure to arrive on time does not qualify you for a refund.
Entry is on a first come, first seated basis. There are no reserving or saving of seats allowed.
Refunds for advanced purchase tickets are available within 12 hours of the initial purchase time/date and on a case-by-case basis only after that time. The RR Sisters cannot issue refunds, you must contact Brown Paper Tickets directly to discuss refunds.
Online Ticket Sales will automatically be cut off at 9:30am the day of Bingo OR when they sell out (which they often do!) After that time, you will be required to purchase tickets at the door, starting at 6pm. The line to purchase tickets at the door forms early in the afternoon.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, at the sole discretion of the members of the Russian River Sisters, Inc. By attending this event, you give consent for any video and audio recording that may take place.
