ONE-MAN, 26 CHARACTERS! Star of the annual OPB Radio "A Christmas Carol with Al LePage" program brings this timeless holiday story to life as a DRAMATIC reading performance of Dickens' own historic script! From Scrooge to Tiny Tim, from Marley's Ghost to Mrs. Cratchit, there's howls and growls, bangs and bongs, a DANCE WITH A SONG, lively laughter and heartfelt tears.
DICKENS' ACTING STYLE! Dickens simply used his voice, made facial expressions, gestured and moved his body to CREATE ALL THE CHARACTERS! LePage will do the same -- accents and all -- plus his own sound effects, too!
BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, PLAYFUL AND INTERACTIVE! LePage's love of improvisation not only means that he may engage you in conversation, but also involve you in other ways, too! Since he likes to experiment and believes in seizing the moment, even he doesn't always know what's going to happen next. All this not only makes each performance UNIQUE, but also keeps them fresh and EXCITING, spontaneous and FULL OF SURPRISES, too!
SPECIAL GIFTS! This performance will also include at least one special gift being given to some audience member during -- and a few more to others -- after the performance, too!
ALL TICKET SALES TO BENEFIT FOOD FOR LANE COUNTY, the second largest nonprofit food bank in the state dedicated to eliminating hunger in Lane County by creating access to food. The performance is being hosted as an official event of FOOD for Lane County.
NOTE: MATURE CHILDREN AGE 10 and older will best appreciate these dramatic reading performances, originally scripted by Dickens for adult audiences.
