It has been far too long since the Burns Sisters have come to sing for their Capital District fans. House packers from the 80s through early 2000s, the three-piece is now pared down to a duo featuring Annie and Marie Burns. The sisters create uplifting, transcendent music filled with warmth and conviction. Stirring and reverent when they sing, they slip into sassy banter and storytelling between songs to create a relaxing atmosphere that soothes the spirit and soul. Annie and Marie are ably carrying forward their family's celebrated musical legacy with a new a duo album, "Looking Back, Our American Irish Souls." This afternoon they will play songs from that album, as well as holiday songs gathered from cultures across the globe and down through the ages.
