Droplet Dance Show: Molly Gawler & Lissa Schneckenburger
Integrating dance, theater, and acrobatics, Droplet Dance weaves story and song into colorful threads that connect every heart and bring about awareness of water in our world. All choreography is by Molly Gawler. She is often joined in performance by her husband Lao Gillam. The music is of the people, and most often is created live by local tradition folk musicians from Maine, particularly Molly's family: The Gawler Family Band. "Cyr wheel" is the vehicle for droplet dance, in which flow with the natural movement of spirals and gravity imbued with the spirit of water itself.
The traditional music of New England can be as warm and comforting as a winter fire or as potent and exhilarating as a summer thunderstorm. Fiddler and singer Lissa Schneckenburger is a master of both moods: a winsome, sweet-voiced singer who brings new life to old ballads and a skillful, dynamic fiddler who captures the driving rhythm and joy of dance tunes old and new.
