Beating Against Time
Project606 Dance will open its 8th season with the dynamic and lively concert, Beating Against Time. The program will feature choreography by Artistic Director Meghann Mueller, company member Julianne Stoltman, and guest choreographers Lin Kahn and Sarah Olson.
Company member Julianne Stoltman will revisit her work "Romanov" that premiered in May of 2016. Artistic Director Meghann Mueller will premiere a new work that consists of a series of duets exploring the theme of vulnerability. Guest choreographer Sarah Olson's new work "Tin Cry" will feature music by Nils Frahm. Olson was influenced by this thought from Bruce Lee, "Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind." Guest choreographer Lin Kahn's work, "Introspecting" has music by composer Bryce Dessner, performed by the Kronos Quartet. Kahn explains her work as being "about our emotional chapters that keep us still, separate, and off balance. Choosing upstage facing to show this private state of being and a dynamic contemporary sound, my intention is to capture the essence of isolated struggle toward mutual support."
Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Drucker Center. It is limited, so arrive early! Indoor parking available half a block away with a $2 validation.
Performances held at the Fasseas Whitebox at the Drucker Center. All ticket prices are considered a suggested donation. Two nights only! Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd at 8pm.
